Our beautiful baby, Sophie Emma Larkins was born in 2001 weighing 8lbs or 3.6Kg. Sophie's birth was probably the most exciting and tiring even I can remember for Kim. It is hard to describe the euphoric feeling of becoming a parent to anyone unless the person you are talking to has also been through it! The labour started around 3pm in the afternoon and Kim used a 'Tens Machine' to reduce the pain of the contractions which really ramped up by about 7pm. Sophie had a full head of jet-black hair at birth (which is amazing as she's now blonde!). At the age of two, Sophie can speak in excess of 350 words. I know this is incredible, but we thought it would be good to write down the words she says on a regular basis so we can record her development, and sure enough it's in excess of 350 words by her second birthday! Sophie is a fantastic traveller, she's been to Boston and Florida (USA), Menorca (Spain), Singapore, Australia and New Zealand and Barbados all in her first two years of life! In fact, she really enjoys travelling and is rarely any problem even on the longest of flights, probably because we started her travelling from the age of 9 weeks! |
